Great movie, but less of a horror movie than a movie about horror.
Good example of a great movie where nothing really happens in it.

Prai Takian, a super-old Thai horror flick, shot on 16 mm silent film in 1940 and restored to 4K in 2018

I watched As Above, So Below. I'm not into found footage. The acting and scenes felt pretty contrived. I really liked the way the filmmakers used Platonic and alchemist ideas as part of the story and not have them be this dumb side thing that's just there to justify why these dumbasses are deep underground. I think the shakey cam and contrived acting put me off so much I didn't notice the other stuff going on in this movie.

definitely agree that as above so below could've been a lot better. as someone who enjoys found footage, if you're interested in a similar setting with a fucking stellar execution check out marebito.

recently watched pontypool which is decent zombie slop with a twist and dawn of the dead which is a phenomenal movie, spectacular execution and everything but i didnt enjoy it because the basis of it felt so damned yankee doodle corny

i wanna rewatch possession, hellraiser and hausu, all absolutely stellar movies.

None of the Halloween movies are good, except the 1978 original.

Yeah, the occult/mystical setting is really cool but I don't think found footage is my thing.

James Wan ruined horror movies. When all is said and done did Insidious actually amount to anything?

I can't prove it but Insidious is why Dark Mall was brought back into star wars in the cartoons
