today i beat diablo 1 my first western rpg. my character Pookie the wizard was very OP. I killed diablo in 20s. I feel empty once i complete a game mostly rpgs. beating mother 1 hit me very hard i didn't play any video games for about 4 months after that. do any of you people get depressed after beating a game.

i don't think i get depressed but have more of an odd feeling when i finish a longer game/anime/so on. i get so used to playing/reading/watching it feels like a sudden stop until i figure out what to do next.

Finishing a good game and bad game both make me sad but for different reasons like when I finish a good game it sucks knowing I can never play it for the first time again and finishing a bad game always just feels like I've just wasted my time.
I think it also gets worse the longer a game is like a game almost becomes part of my routine for a bit so sucks when it over.

just like me, wish i could watch more anime without getting so intense emotions after the fact

It really gets to me because I get too attached to some forms of media. I have cried (or almost come close to crying) when I finished some VNs or binge watch a good anime. If you want my suggestion, try finishing games gradually over a longer period of time

Make completing video games your game with some database site like mal or vndb. If that doesn't work then start blogging/vlogging about the games. Finally if you want a "game" that doesn't end start writing a novel series or playing a table top rpg. There's free solo ttrpgs like Ironsworn if you don't want to play with others. Or stuff like Mythic GM Emulator to convert existing games to solo. There's also plenty of places and discord servers where people can play by post.
