>>8 lakai and etnies would be my picks as far as skate shoes go. vans are crappy shoes for the purpose of skating, they're fragile and not particularly comfortable. etnies are really durable, i wore an old pair that my dad used to wear when i was learning to skate, then i wore a pair of vans that broke down pretty quickly and now i'm wearing a pair of lakai. the latter pair has been very comfortable so far and seems to be holding up well enough, though i was not too impressed by the laces that the shoes came with. i have swapped them out for the laces that came with the decrepit pair of vans that i have mentioned earlier.
