for my fellow artistic denpas: what are you inspired by? how do you channel that inspiration and make something beautiful from it? ive been working at music like always but it feels a little hollow right now.

usually im inspired when i hear an album and im like "oh i wanna do something like that!" but i lack the motivation to actually make it happen lately. it might also be because ive been incredibly depressed these past couple months? idk lol

just do what you wish was done by someone else

You cannot rely on "motivation" or "inspiration", you have to have discipline.

By working. How do you work? By having discipline.

It is a catch-22, to break it you must force yourself to act. Never found a better way.

explore other mediums. For example, it's not that much of a creative or inventive process to hear a song and then try to make another song in that style. It requires a lot more creativity to see a painting and translate that into a song.

Take a walk & observe the world around you. Pay attention to the little things. You'll realize some stuff that, while maybe insignifigant, will give you new perspective.
