Do you have any tips to write a good anime review?
I'd say that basically you need to make some kind of specific argument and actually talk about what the anime is about thematically but I am not sure about how much of the plot I should include of the plot in the review. I'd like to hear your thoughts on that and on any other tips you have for writing a review which you'd like to read.

what i like is when a writer guides me through a piece, giving specific examples from the text of the themes they're arguing for. it doesn't have to be an exhaustive rehashing, but an analysis piece has stromg forward momentum if you provide a semi-linear account of the moments that you're pulling from as they become relevant to your observations and points

record yourself explaining it to a friend or a your cat, now you have vague outline of what you want to communicate, type it out, copy the intro middle and end of a famous review
