Does anyone else feel intense disgust and existential dread at the fact that we have to expel waste out of our bodies (defecate/urinate). I don't understand how this fact does not disturb and terrify more people. In fact most people seem so comfortable with this horrible fact that it is the subject of most of their jokes. I feel deeply uncomfortable with "potty humour". The thing that gets me is the fact that we as humans can rise to such monumental intellectual peaks while simultaneously expelling putrid waste out of us like any other creature. It has, among myriad other things, put me off ever becoming intimate with another person. The fact that every woman I see has urine and feces in her at all times is just horrible. A loving God would not do this to us.

get a pet they'll shit and piss in a corner of your room while you're asleep, that will get rid of your hypothetical phobia very quickly

humans believe themselves to be apart from the beasts, when the truth is that humans simply have obscured that fact
a talking, thinking, contemplating beast is a beast all the same, and to deny it is to deny yourself

that being said, it has also been a while since I've heard a toilet joke, let alone to the point where it would rank as something I'd consider a common category of joke

what tends to disturb me more is the visceral dread of the necessity of consumption. In order to live I must masticate and ingest, and this in turn requires expelling the parts I am unable to utilize fully. disgusting. But that's what this existence is about.

it is an extremely common category of joke. yes grade schoolers tend to use them more obviously and with higher frequency, but consider "funny fart noise" which is a sub category of the wider "potty humour" genre is ubiquitous unto itself.
