Is it possible to host a textboard on gopher?

basic gopher? eh... you might be able to use the search parameter to send information to the server? or else use some ridiculous file requests like /post.this_is_the_text_of_the_post but even then it would likely need a special client and it would 100% need a server specific to support it, it would probably have very small length limit and i doubt it could be done securely easily

gemini is a much saner choice of "smolweb" protocol for textboard.

or you could just do what they did in the olden days and have a telnet based textboard (bbs).
