It hasn't been always like this on the Internet, back in the day people were much more open about that, and I think it's very degrading for any person to reduce themselves to some silly username and profile picture as it's common these days. Some things are better kept private, but talking about salaries and approximate location shouldn't be problematic to discuss. The fact that there was a time when people were not worried about privacy constantly and literally nothing happened to them, only proves my point. I think the damage of the privacy hysteria is greater than any damage that could happen as a direct consequence of revealing the country where you live or how much you earn on a board like this.
