as the title says. What music that other people seem to like that can't you get into? for me it's black country new roads or whatever that band is called. People seem to love them for some reason.

i rellly wanted to like yoko "oh no" ono forever bc shes weird and controversial and super experimental,,, but her music experiments are the equivalent of sticking ur hand in the freezer for an hour

i generally do not care for music with female singers but there are a few exceptions, like in the case of female-fronted screamo or when the singer has a high-pitched and/or nosy voice. reasonable men make exceptions.
i also don't care much for most music from my culture (québec), which bothers me because i LOVE my language. not to say that there isn't any good music from my country (i'd recommend checking out bernard adamus, fred fortin, avec pas d'casque and richard desjardins. not "obscure" picks by any means, but it's good music and good poetry), it's just that it's difficult to discover it for me since i don't engage with the outside world and the algorithms i engage with seem to think that i'm american based off of my interests.

even as someone who's pretty into noise music and sound-art, yoko's music is just not good.

can't get into any kind of harsh gutteral vocal metal at all -- a few screams and the like are fine, but if that's the normal singing voice for most of the song, I hate it utterly
there are a bunch of bands where I absolutely adore the guitars and the drum work and the energy, but I think the singer is pure shit
entire subgenres of metal where the above description holds true for me

a lot of people get told about breakcore and hate it and it turns out that what they actually wanted to hear was jungle
just something smoother, less "random", and more danceable
