Anyone still keep up with rock music? I noticed that damn every rock band I listen to these days, I listened to back in 2009, so I want to expand my horizons. I have been listening to a few modern old school style metal acts like Sin Starlett, but I'm clueless when it comes to what's going on in rock these days
>>1 when you say rock, that's very broad. Recently I've been loving the band chat pile.

i don't keep up with music whatsoever. i have a digital collection as well as a small physical (cds only, i see no appeal in vinyls) collection. as far as rock and all of its subgenres go, i listen to the same cds and rips over and over. choke, coheed and cambria, cursive, the decemberists, dream theatre, korn, the mars volta and moneen. i'm really into technical or math-rock stuff, or music that makes use of dissonant sounds. specific album recs: slow fade or: how i learned to question infinity, the second stage turbine blade, cursive's domestica, the tain, scab dates, the red tree.
