>>10 lol i have seen the libido kamen video too hahaha. i wouldn't go as far as him but most western critiques of anime protagonists are retarded, included that of kirito.
They just want every anime protagonist to be some kind of 80s flick action hero.
Personally I have no problem with kirito but rather it's the heroines in SAO that are boring when paired with Kirito. The alicization arc where Kirito is paired with a guy is the best part of SAO partly because Kirito has more chemistry with him than any of the girls.
Part of the problem is that SAO is not really a harem, since Asuna wins at the start, so at best what you have got between Kirito and the other heroines is a buddy cop relationship that can never really blossom into romance because Kirito is already taken. So all the romantic hints and sparks which the anime throws at the audience's way are totally pointless.
The other thing which I dislike in SAO is that other than Kayaba and the villain in Alicization, the villains tend to be boring one-dimensional evil assholes. Season 2 is the worst for this. I am not saying that every villain needs to be a shade of grey but can't they at least be a bit intelligent and take some interesting decisions?
Finally, it's not a unique criticism, but the time skip... the time skip in S1 really sucked.
