Is buying a n0thanky0u album consumerism?

Obviously I ask this half-jokingly, but on the other hand it's genuine thought that crossed my mind. I wanted to buy the CDs for "To the fairest" and "Dead Form", but then asked myself whether I really need them, whether my money would be better spent with something else. I mean I can theoretically burn the CDs myself from the .wav files, that you can get at bandcamp, but it's not the same, albeit I would probably have the same value in goods on my hand. Those albums mean a lot to me and I think I would do myself a disservice to wait until they are sold out, then again I don't want to become a consumer in the worst sense.

What do you think? Is buying a physical piece of media consumerism in a bad sense or is it fine?

pirating is always sexier than acquiring media legally. if i were ever to buy a n0thanky0u album, i'd do it to feel like i financially supported an artist i like. but either way is fine

pirate the album, then send him the amount of money that the album cost through liberapay or monero

But his music is free anyway, so you can't really pirate it. Also it's more about the physical item (the CD itself), hence the question whether this is already consumerism, being interested in an item for, I guess, aesthetic purposes, i.e. me liking a nice CD with case better than having to burn a CD myself.
