I wish I could have an actual answer to the question "What kind of music are you listen to?", because it feels like I don't have a real music taste in the sense that I could point to a handful of genres of music that I like and say "Yeah, so that's the kind of music I like". It's more that I just listen to some music for some time and then move on. Usually, when asked, I answer with "I listen to electronic music", which is only partly and in a very broad sense true, because I listen to stuff made on a computer or with a synthesizer really. I don't want to be one of those people, who claim to listen to everything, but I can not really pinpoint what I like.

Anyone else also feeling like this? What do you say when asked what music you like?

I used to listen to noise machines. A white one. But brown & pink is fine too. I ain't a rasict bruh. My ex gf (who was in to cybergoth, teached me how to install gentoo) loved the genre of "cooler noise".
There been some on&off good sites to listen for nature sounds, but good stuff something like rain.fm or noise.fm is not working like before.

I've thought to write my own synth noise gen machine. Because taking gigabates of FLAC noise with you to commute is heavy

it's possible to use ffmpeg to generate any kind of noise you want. I can't remember the specifics but if you look up "ffmpeg white noise" im sure a reddit thread or something would appear that explains it

have you considered making a lastfm

honestly yeah it's kinda hard to pin a specific sound because i like variety. i don't like everything, there's definitely stuff i dislike, but why would i stick to one sound when i can listen to literally everything. that's like the whole point of the internet basically.
also agree with 18, lastfm is pretty good. their music recommendation algorithm whatever is a lot better than any other website i've used. might help you pin which specific traits you like in your music.
