2. Reject 3DPG and 2.5DPG
3. Make doujinshi
4. Ignore all politics
5. Buy Gunpla, figures, bishoujo posters etc... To make your otaku room.

I mean I wouldn't say I disagree with any of these answers but the most obvious answer is watch more anime, play more visual novels, or go deeper into whatever niche you are interested in. "Becoming more otaku" will come naturally unless you come to find you just aren't interested in otaku culture. Don't be one of those people who is super otaku about being otaku, put the work in and it will just happen.
