Yu-no is my personal #1 eroge hands down. It's basically a perfect game, and is easily one of the strongest graphical adventure games ever made, far surpassing anything lucasarts or sierra ever put out in both scale and design sensibility. Hell, it even surpasses lucasarts stuff in humor at times. And all of that is despite being rushed in development. In fact, yu-no is so good that it makes me wonder why the rest of Hiroyuki Kanno's games really aren't. I guess yu-no was just some sort of crazy accident that resulted in the best game. Anyway it's a shame what happened with the remake but the original game is an all time classic that still deserves to be played.

at the recc of an online friend i'm making my way through Chaos;Child at a snail's pace. it's got that SciAdv appeal people fell in love with from Steins;Gate on display from the moment the first grisly supernatural murder happens, and the main character is a funny dork to boot. i dunno, i'd reccomend it.

I'm big on the SciAdv works but decided to try some other nitroplus published titles this year. Finished Full Metal Daemon: Muramasa a month ago, pretty long but defintely worth the read I can't say much without spoiling the cool stuff.

I finished Tsukihime (the OG version, not the remake) recently and I don't quite know what to think of it. The art and characters have a certain charm to them and I appreciate what it's trying to do but the writing and structure were a complete sloggy mess...

i'm gonna give maitetsu another try. Kinda wish last run was full translated. will let you know what i think

currently playing nukitashi (in english) and sanobawitchi (in japanese).
nukitashi is great so far except for the fact that it has a fucking memory leak issue and some wants you to have 16+gb's or RAM, which is just unjustifiable for a visual novel

The amount of vns which run poorly is insane. You compare a vn from 2000 to one from today and there is barely any technical difference, but the modern one will eat up performance for no reason!

Happened more than a week ago but I figure some of you would be excited to hear that Sakura no Uta and Sakura no Toki official English translations were announced.
Perhaps they'll release alongside the Sakura no Uta 10th anniversary edition that comes out December 26.

im so glad i can no experience the yu-no hentai as the comedic masterpiece it is, instead of just being confused about literally everything.

Is the ToHeart 3d remake worth playing? Or should I wait for the original to eventually get translated?

I've heard mixed things, but afaik it's just a visual change the content is the same so it's probably fine?

The remake also has an entirely new voice cast, though there is the option to use the old voices. You can set this on a per-character basis and mix the old and new voices. There are new walking segments where you walk around in a 3d space. There's an option to mark correct choices making it much easier than the older versions. Also despite obviously being based on the all-ages playstation version of the game, the remake lacks the minigames introduced in that version with some script changes to accommodate that removal. Also can't rename the main character in the new one.

ToHeart
Wait for To Heart vndb r82941,ToHeart Demake is based on the all-ages console ports. If you wan't all-ages To Heart just watch the 1999 anime.
It looks like Pokemon game cutscenes or something with CGs being replaced by 3D models. They don't even do anything with it. Isn't Koikatsu mostly good for porn anyways? They should have made first person VR h-scenes but eroge are a dying medium. All the companies making eroge are stuck with the same format and trying to break into gacha or other more "respected mediums", the companies that made it big want nothing to do with eroge.

although the consensus seems to be that da capo 2 is the best of the series, personally I thought dc1 was the better game. not that I didn't like 2 also.

Here's a video suggestion to you, n0. Comparing Clannad to Air. For Air, the main scenerio was written by an other guy, not Maeda. Then for Clannad, Maeda wrote the main scenario. The comparison to make would be to compare the themes of destiny in Air to the themes of free will in Clannad.

I wouldn't be recommending this if I actually read Air. I've only ever watched the anime 10 years ago.

Senren Banka just crossed 1 million copies sold.
Pretty impressive for an eroge nowadays.
Would be curious about the breakdown across platforms and languages.

as i heard, for some reason senren banka somehow lucked into getting pushed very hard in steam's algorithm, I'd be willing to bet that had a lot to do with it. Well it's also pretty good which helps.

interesting. I guess this partly explains how Yuzusoft is the only VN studio that currently operates a year-round store in Akiba.

speaking of yuzusoft, anyone read limelight lemonade jam and can confirm if kamige?
