At least when I read your description there, that's what I think of.
When I try to think of an actual most manga-like manga and just go by the title instead of your description, I'm sort of drawing a blank. Maybe CLAMP or Arina Tanemura manga, I think they use a lot of screentones and stuff if I remember correctly.
