Nothing from this century.

I have this thing where I feel like I have to catch up on old anime first before watching anything new. My backlog consists only of shows from before 2010. Maybe in my next life I can watch new anime. It's mostly about understanding cultural references and context ... or maybe I'm just an otaku hipster who dislikes anything that was made after I was born.

Now that we're a few weeks into the summer season I can say that the seasonal anime that I will keep watching to completion are:

Full-length: City [amazing first few eps], Ruri no Houseki [Onimaii director is back], Hikaru ga Shinda Natsu, Nukitashi, Gachiakuta, Koujo Denka no Kateikyoushi

Short Series: Takopii no Genzai

Sequels: New Panty & Stocking, Yofukashi no Uta [feels a lot more Shafty than I remember the first season being], Dandadan,Puniru wa Kawaii Slime, Jidou Hanbaiki ni Umarekawatta Ore wa Meikyuu wo Samayou [Vending Machine Isekai]

Overall it is a pretty blessed season by contemporary standards and there's a lot of series with potential.

[NinKoro was last season, but I'll also +1 the above rec]

Takopi manga is really beautifully drawn too, would seriously recommend it

the one about the girls studying rocks seemed pretty good too it reminds me of my days when i spent most of the day outside in the mexican wilderness, used to catch lizards and my grandpa would teach me which mushrooms where safe to pick or i would bike around his land over and over until i couldnt, the "scenery" is pretty damn good too. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) never seen such well animated thick anime bitches.

I just finished Takopis Original Sin and cried. I've also been loving Gachikuta lately. It's tough when you get into a new or ongoing anime as when you really vibe with it, you wind up waiting in anticipation for each episode to roll out.

I haven't seen it.
6 episodes. Score 9.
2 vol of manga.

kinda says that anime doesn't need to be narubleachpiece with 99+ episodes.
