Have you considered making your own visual novel?

Youre a NEET, so you have plenty of free time. RenPy is free. You can surely figure out how to draw crude sprites.
...Well, anon? What are you waiting for? It'll be fun, and it'll give you something to focus on!

I've tried, but I always lose motivation without people who will work on it with me. It's quite laborious, and everything is always more fun with friends.
I hope to someday find someone who will develop a VN with me... but for now, I have resigned myself to having a text document with all my unused ideas.

I'm not very good at drawing or visual stuff to be honest nor really story telling though I wouldn't mind working on the music from such a thing

Programming wise that's not something I'd be too worried about since python is honestly something I'd say I probably have the most "real world experience in" though I prefer using C for most of my projects

Neither was Ryukishi07 when he first made Higurashi, but his wonky-looking sprites are endearing and functional nonetheless. Good writing can absolutely make up for subpar art.

I wish I could make a VN with a weird fucking surrealist plot but I can’t program for shit or draw

I can do x but I cant do y
I can do y but I cant do x
Who's going to make the suggestion

I'm doing too many things right now, but I plan to make one in the future. I can't draw, can't make music, and my writing is not what one would call "enjoyable", but I'll make one anyways.

I'm making one for the biggest Western VN jam, which is NaNoRenO. I won't say the name of my game, but one of the VNs on itch dot io slash jam slash nanoreno-2026 will be written by myself. Hope our denpas have fun with it.

Also, it's not very hard to make a VN. You can find people to work with you on art, the Ren'Py coding is very easy, but even if you're too lazy to learn it, there're also people who are willing to do that for you. If anything, making a VN is way easier than writing a novel, because the plot moves forward way faster and you don't have to spend a lot of time describing your characters and their actions. Good luck.

I did once try to make an eroguro vn in renpy but I ran out of ideas while writing it so I didn't get very far. In fact I think the files are all lost for that now anyway.

I have thought about it at some point, but i don't think i can write a decent story to save my life.

I got a really cool concept for an ero-comic involving mortal-degredation, reverance and psudo-ritualism, with the main antagonist being Illithid (or some type of mind consuming predator).
I've barely started drawing it and I've no skill with a pen, but shit If I can finish 5 pages I'll be excited.
I have considered paying >pro 57i tu73s to live model for sketching - intimate and unusual poses obvs, but haven't grown the balls for it yet.

Ooooh there's another H-manga I want to try about a vicious, selfish W I T C H that rescues an abandoned and injured goblin to train (hard) as a housepet. Ask me what she feeds it with @~@

I think you start by storyboarding it out - sketch the central scenes that're easiest to imagine, then fill in the space that links them. Dialog will come - in terms of h-manga it'll be most provokative it you come up with it while er.. masterbating.

Ideas will always be perfect until they're persued!

I want to but the main obstacle is myself. I just can’t stay focused long enough to really develop a story or coordinate a group to help me do the stuff I can’t.

I want to but
Keep telling yourself you can't and you never will. Obstacles exist to be surmounted. I BEREEVE IN YU!

Unsolicited advice? Instead; Tell yourself you can until you believe it enough to start acting. Literally, just start saying it. Now.

to add onto the Unsolicited advice I found a lot of the times I'd end up overthinking how to start something instead actually just starting to work on said thing

I'm too fucking busy. If I really dedicated myself to it, then I could probably maybe somehow do it but I'm too fucking busy right now and I got too much on my plate.

Making a collaborative visual novel without instant messaging is nearly impossible. It would be fun though.

Osaka just died on his own. Disregard the marks on his neck, they're from a forest critter. Might as well eat him at this point.

I can draw and code but never practiced writing that much, I hope to meet someone I can collaborate with one day.

Wrong thread. Cool it with the parasocial cannibal remarks anyway.
