Just leave it out, eunuchs have existed for thousand of years, so have people who have had a not so cis experience with gender. The hijra and muxes are an example of this. Phytoestrogens exist in many different plants as well.
Our currant conceptualization of transgender people may be recent, but so are many other phenomena to do with medicine and sociology.
Just because it hasn't been conceived of in the exact same form over a long period does not diminish it's existence.

Also it is perfectly reasonable to dislike things about industrialization, because it has allowed for the greatest amount of oppression mankind has ever seen. No problem with the advancements in technology, but industrialization itself concentrates the power of those advancements into that hands of the very few which causes immense suffering. blah blah techno feudalism is the end stage of capitalism because capitalism is inherently exploitative and industrialization exacerbates it blah blah
