n0 hates it

i don't think there is anything wrong with it. there is something wrong with someone who thinks it is the best anime ever, because all that really says about them is that they have watched very few anime. it's on the same level of someone who only watched naruto, bleach, dbz, attack on titan, etc. are those shows terrible? no, each of them is interesting in it's own way, but liking only any of them is a red flag.

I tried to watch it, its just inconsistent, the first chapters are all over the place have big epic things happening but there were no stakes.
the characters also felt superficial, how do you have a trio and 2 of them are sakura lvl irrelevant.

the thing that's hard to get going in is that it relies on the legwork done in most other long running shounen anime to fill in the gaps. It takes the archetypes and relationships we've seen a hundred times and just says "ya these characters have that kind of relationship, anyway moving on." obviously this is going to be hit or miss depending on the viewer. It lets them skip all the "boring stuff" to focus on the battles and plot development rather than characters, except in the places where a specific new architype is needed fleshed out (for example Aoi Todo is fleshed out much more than most because he is a modern variant of the thug type character)
it's economical story telling, and i expect we will see more stories begin doing things more like this as time goes. (to some extent it's somewhat surprising it isn't already more common since it's just taking the same idea of the anime meta and encapsulating it again)

you know how a good murder mystery pulls you in and makes you genuinely worry about the characters, it had non of that

It's not that it's bad, it's just representative of a certain kind of anime fan. A few years ago it would have been deathnote or AOT.

jujutsu kaisen season 2 is actually great, you just have to trudge through a mid season 1 to get to it
