I feel like we're muddling the definition way too much. Someone who simply lives an unexamined life shouldn't be considered a fascist, that's completely nuts.
The basic principle of fascism is that you're uncaring of personal freedoms in favor of "advancing" the group/tribe/state, that you're willing to openly attack people in daily life for not falling in line. It is tribalism taken to an extreme, where the main thought is "you're with us or you're against us (either by belief or by nature), and if you're against us, there is no limit to what we will do to you".
