>>31 i call myself a woman because it makes me feel nice :3 i think its fun to get into the "why" sometimes but you gotta remember that ppl do what makes them happy, especially when that happiness comes from the abstract. does watching anime make you happy? if you post here im like 90% certain it does. we can get into the minutia of why anime is good or bad or inherently regressive or whatever but most people literally dont care about that and want to experience pleasure. hedonism is in vogue rn <3
however, im not implying that being trans ignores deeper analysis of one's inner self. the whole reason we're like this is because we've been through this whole song and dance in our head for literally our whole lives. literally no trans person's concept of gender begins and ends with "women wear dresses and makeup". its just an easy shorthand to express femininity. when you know dozens of trans women its easy to see that the large majority of us express our femininity similarly to cis women. there's spectrum of expression from tomboy to high femme, for both trans and cis women
anyways, if you want to embrace equality among sexes and dont want to define people by broad categories, shouldnt we all switch to they/them pronouns and abolish gender outright? the fact that a sex is assigned to us places us into a broad category that simplifies our personhood. it seems silly to me to argue against trans people redefining the boxes that we're placed into
