The kind way to look at it is to make ... the sole criterionThat's taking a very superficial view of people again. (Besides the point I was making about general social acceptance, on a personal level I really don't respect people who need validation from others to exist.)
I think that self-id is the correct route to goI think people should be able to live however they like and do what makes them happy, but I was talking about when males perform “feminine” traits then expect society to treat them as female, and have a tantrum when they're misgendered or whatever. I don't mind what an individual wants to call themselves, but I sympathise with women who feel weird about males who decided that they feel female, so they'll do "female things" (a sexist idea) so now they deserve to use women's spaces.
the most surefire way to make them acknowledge your identity is to play into the stereotypesThe idea of "making them acknowledge your identity" is questionable, and you reinforce my point about defining femininity through superficial regressive behaviours. Women don't need to do those things to be women, no matter what the stereotype is of the time, regardless of cutting edges or accepted paradigms. Personally I find the ones that do engage in that regressive patriarchal shit to be pretty sad, but when males do it it has an extra layer of seediness.
singling transfems out for it is oddI'm not singling anyone out, it's just the thread topic.
