This dives away effort posters in what becoming a self fulfilling cycle, and eventually there's such a dearth of genuine posts that even the R9K retards get bored and leave. But the actual userbase never fully returns, just enough mouthbreathing Normalfags stay on to deter migration back to the site. The only boards that avoid this are ones that consistently ban people for low quality posting, which is unfortunately shrinkingly few sites.
