I assume that’s how it is for most people, but I’m curious if there are any who are drawn to the idea of denpa for its original associations with delusion. And that, for whatever reason, whether due to upbringing, media consumption, or pure isolation, they themselves become disillusioned. I imagine it might be similar for those who are religious or raised within a faith, who believe, through faith alone, in greater powers beyond themselves, powers that can be interacted with, forming a relationship that becomes part of their identity. So, in the case of denpa, to what extent do isolation and immersion in otaku culture turn that media into a kind of new god?

i agree with >>2 but id like to put forward that my relationship to denpa did not begin with denpa tube or denpa chan or whatever, like >>4 mentioned. my relationship to denpa began with emamouse and shinsei kammatechan. or maybe my relationship to denpa began with girls rituals... i used to suffer from profound delusions and at the height of these psychotic episodes i would often find myself going on walks at the middle of the night, i would often trespass and i would often find myself under the impression that i had some sort of magical powers to do with radio waves or the internet. on multiple occasions i had a great deal of trouble distinguishing my thoughts from the sound of the radio, 'what do you mean you cant hear that? theyre talking to us!' i would believe myself to have been given instructions in the music id select. old girls rituals fucking rips when you're a lonely delusional failgirl omfg

the latest event was about a year ago and for some of it i was obsessed with the word denpa itself, there's a few recordings of me talking about denpa radio as i wandered places like the graveyard i slept at when i ran out of couches to surf on. i could probably find them, dunno if i want to share them tho. maybe
