it is very easy to open up thinkpads, you can find disassembly guides on youtube easily. Fixing the fan itself is harder, it's probably more effective to just replace the fan entirely unless you know what you're doing. You can find thinkpad fans pretty easily, or you could rip one out of another x200 which is sold cheap "for parts". Replacing the fan is not complicated at all.
