Yesterday, while we were washing the dishes by hand with my mother, she cut her finger pretty bad by accident. I quickly nabbed the pack of band-aids from the top cabinet in the living room and prepared one for her, taking care of the rest of the dishes after. Later I reflected on what'd have happened if I wasn't a hikki-NEET who lives with the whole family and was away at a job like everyone else: she'd have had to drop dishwashing halfway through and fumble around the shelf with a non-dominant hand, probably get her glasses beforehand even to try putting that thing on. It's things like this that make me appreciate my circumstances somewhat.
