>>76 Trans women are obsessed with being 'real' women. They know how artificial their bodies are. In our culture, artificial means fake and fake means bad. Since trans women are constantly made aware of the fact that they can only become women through artificial modifications, they are always paranoid about their lack of realness and being seen as bad. Actually being physically attacked is less of a problem when you are psychically attacked every day. This kind of mania is never there with cis women because the idea that women are real isn't heavily questioned. This is also probably why many cis women feel uncomfortable around trannies. Here I am encountering a person who wants to be like me but can only do so artificially. That being said, they use exactly the same cosmetics and products I use to build my gender identity. Crisis! "am I any more real than they are?" This crisis is the main cause of transphobia. I had this experience the other day when I saw a ftm transformer and felt weird.
>>77 Conservatism isn't the problem here. I hate this stupid word and wished it would go away because it messes up our analysis of the situation. The story goes like this, there is something called conservatism which wants to control how people express themselves and this causes people who don't fit those ideals to be crushed like bugs. Well, that's a cool story but I don't think that's what's happening at all. No. But there is a problem. If a women or a man is simply whatever you feel like, then there are no women or men. This is the situation today. Both sides of the gender debate are like two armies fighting over a land that doesn't exist anymore. The disappearance of men and women is like our era's version of the death of God.
>>76 what if i told you that i feel beautiful when i look in the mirror, that i over time have come to understand that i dont have to follow that anger that i can stare at the mirror and no matter what percived imperfection there is i can still be a good person and i can be kind and affectionate and treat people with respect its not about looks its about being a human being capable of compassion and protecting others that are not like you not for fame but to instill that person with a sense that they can also be good that they can also be someone who elevates and takes the time to understand.
you have to understand that even if im flat that doesnt mean that im worse or less capable as a mother theres plenty of kids in orphanages who need anyone to help them theres lots and lots of these trans people who do their very best every day and go above and beyond for other people and they dont have to look like a doll to do it.
