>>327 Seconding this. The idea that it would kill the board is stupid

>>327 What's stupid about that idea? As >>324 mentioned - the irc would inevitably siphon some posts that would be made here and would likely decrease overall activity. We could disagree about if this would lead to the board's death (where do you even draw that line?), but it seems pretty obvious to me that this would reduce the overall level of activity.
Maybe you weren't here but this was tried (with discord and matrix) in the early days of the board. Somehow it seemed to make more sense then because n0 had shutdown his discord server and this site was to be its replacement, which ultimately led some to want to reclaim a type of live-chat group for the people who had been members of the original discord server. Ultimately this server and its matrix spinoff both fell out of use a bit more than a year ago.

In my experience, people use IRC and boards for different types of things, so it doesn’t necessarily decrease activity. There are ways of mitigating that anyway. You could shut the IRC down or have it closed for a couple hours, forcing people to post. I could see it killing the chat thread but not the rest of the site.

to be clear, i was telling 326 to make one if they want one. in the spirit of "do it your damn self" in full remembrance of the failed earlier experiments to spinoff chat rooms. I don't think it would kill the board. In the best case it would improves the board content quality, the more likely case is 3 online users at peak usage of the chat and dead in a week, with only a few shill messages to ever mark it's existance.
Hopefully the streams will still be a thing, i know i enjoyed those. If he’s taking a break along with veep that’d make sense honestly, i just want everyone to do whats best for themselves in this time

The fact is we all need to move on and do something new. Saying this is a massive understatement. Still so much unexplored creative potential. Think bigger guys.
We are not a subreddit for internet nano-celebrities. Even if we were at some point, they have disappeared now, so we can not be even if we want to be. Now is the time for us to come together and discuss, what is "denpa-chan.org" without youtube? What kind of community do we want to be?
Of course, various users are mourning what we have lost, and fair enough, I am too going to miss it. But I also recognize that disconnecting our community from the corpo meta-meatspace "platform" of youtube has the potential to lead to even greater things in the future! What if our preconceived notions of this nebulous "denpa video" thing was holding us back? We can open the door to non-commercial, collaborative projects, for example what if we created a denpa webzine? or a denpa game jam? or a denpa webring with denpa blogs? (i suppose that last one kind of already exists). These are just the first things which came to my head, but I am sure there are all kinds of interesting and creative avenues for collaboration and expression which we could come up with! I know this place is full of weirdo schizo artsy people, we can create more weirdo schizo artsy stuff, for it's own sake! What do you think, are any of those ideas interesting, or do you have your own ideas?
Could denpachan also end up being shut down ? I'm not sure what to say about denpatube in general, other than I respect people taking their time and doing life stuff away from it, and that there are still new channels sprouting off, so things will still likely exist about the 'denpa-culture', and users will still make denpa related content, regardless of what has come before. Comfypilled was also a channel that has resigned I believe. And the content he made is still up for watching. There's still neet denpa stuff to consume there.
Do any of you know a way for me to mass download entire channels, playlists alongside individual videos without running into errors from age restricted videos?

>>22 unfortunately anon the only way to bypass age restriction on youtube is verifying your age. I would recommend getting a throwaway google account and then age verifying it (legitimately or not) and then passing its cookies with yt-dlp whenever you want to download age-restricted videos.
I think that one of the main things that distinguishes Christian metaphysics from Platonic metaphysics is that in the same way that Christianity views Christ as being dualistic, having both a temporal and physical modality as well as a non-temporary metaphysic modality Platonism essentially views all temporal and non-metaphysical phenomenon as essentially having this dualistic modality to them. This would include both animate and inanimate things.
For example all inanimate matter, such as say a rock, or even simpler forms of inanimate matter, or to use an even greater extreme energy itself both exist as phenomenon that are native to time and space, and essentially cannot exist outside of the phenomenological world by their very nature, yet in tandem to this phenomenological modality they also have a metaphysical modality in the Nous, that is to say the Platonic Realm of Forms which is itself underpinned by Being itself, the One.
The hypostatic modality that exists within the Nous is the very underpinning for all phenomenological existence. All phenomena are individuated aspects of the Nous which both simultaneously contains all of the Platonic Forms yet as a wider hypostasis can be said to be all of the Forms experienced as one Form outside of temporality.
Was there an independent Christian metaphysics not influenced by Platonism? On a side note, why do Western philosophers have such a stick up their ass when it comes to Platonism? Also they really really hate transcendence, I suspect its because the inhabitants of a fossil economy would naturally hate anything the idea there are forces beyond their control.
>>3 Well the transcendence vs immanence thing is not so much in things being out-of/in human control, but rather on the where "being" comes from. This is, does it come from something absolutely outside ourselves (transcendence), or something to which we belong to and it belongs to us (immanence). In immanence there is a shared "being" between all things, in transcendence "being" is given to things from somewhere else, and being is not shared between the things themselves, but in between things and their creator, or their source of being.
>>4 Yeah continental philosophers. They love to denounce Platonism and accuse each other of being Platonists. Anyway philosophy isn’t my strong suit :(
in transcendence "being" is given to things from somewhere else, and being is not shared between the things themselves, but in between things and their creator, or their source of being.
>>514 another question is "what frequency and length of material per month or week would be required to be required of a 'core denpatuber'?" or is it more of a "quality" distinction?
B1tch, what even is DENPAH anyway? We z00tz and b00tz or wat? Y'all never seen The electric spunk bubble?
What I mean to say is that I'm leaving thish video on repeat all night, probably hear 3 runs of it before I get tired of hearing the laptop fan. M8, you don't make it easy for me to not feel r4>1<4|eVez>. Sh#t if that's offensive I'm sorry - I h0pe you're sovnd. W4!<!<Y, right? You'd make a better shot on a stary night sky ;)
Accept your small part you play in the world. We can mostly only impact that which is closest to us. Let go, be free. Pay attention locally, the national news is for feeling doom and gloom. Local news may be more positive in that it impacts you closer to home. Find ways to connect with others ( I know, we are all neets and shut ins ) but it doesn't have to be that way completely. Self acceptance takes a while, but is worth it. You'll be less self conscious, if you can put in some time analysing your self worth, mindset, and the way your body and mind works. It doesn't have to be self improvement. Besides, the average person isn't self improving beyond going the gym, and working. The minimum should be to find a way to move around every day, even if just walking in a garden or to the corner store. We are closer to our local residents than to the top 1 per cent. Not everyone is a smoking hot 10, look around, seriously. We are decaying if not growing. And a lot of normies smoke, booze, and still live to their 80s. So it's not that important to be a God amongst men. Set your sights lower, be satisfied with the small gains. But maybe I'm just a raving loonatic, and this all doesn't mean anything. In that case, Shoepenhaur has a thing or two to say about it.
>>34 Interesting that the contradiction that you "discover" as harmful to the generic human subject is that between "national" and "local". To which you contrast the "large" stage of political larger than life actors, and the "small" personal nick-knackery of self-improvement.
We live in a global society. We have a global economy. The nation is everyday something smaller and smaller, one of these days we will no longer have to bear this farce of "national" news, or any sort of news media for that matter. In defending "local" living over national living, you are being more blood-and-soil than blood-and-soil, more reactionary than reaction. You spread your poison online all to see, you huddle in comfort with your fellow losers who care nothing more than their little volksgemeinshaft suspended in their local community.
>>35 You win, Hitler mentioned ! Heh, I actually don't fully comprehend what you're saying, care to elaborate ?

( sorry for doublepost ) Ah I see that the post was truncated. I see more of it now. All I can say is, What makes me special to do such a thing ? I'd only be running away from who I am. Chasing a dream too big. I'm happy as I am. That's a race for someone else, not me.

Do you ever find that a period of self improvement often occurs after a great upheaval? I'm concerned I may be being quietly convinced to leave my home.
continuing the first thread that hit post limit.
